Betsy, Front Desk Manager
When Betsy completed the Adult Education course “Front Office Specialist” through the Greene County Career Center in 2007, she wasn’t sure what type of office setting she would end up working in. But with a strong background in 4H - specifically rabbits - along with a love of all things pets (except mice; never, ever mice), our veterinary clinic became the perfect fit. She strives to expand her knowledge in the veterinary field so that she can help to educate our clients. She hopes that in doing so, she can  help make a pet's life a little better. She enjoys getting to meet clients and their pets. She has helped clients from their first puppy visit through that last visit where they helped their best friend cross over with grace. She loves to  build lasting relationships and she’s come to build amazing friendships with some longtime clients.
In her time away from work, she continues to be active in her local 4H community, as well as spending time and making memories with her family. She shares her life with her husband and 2 small children, who have convinced her to adopt 3 stray cats over the years: Skye, Harley and Fuzzball. She is also owned by Riddick, an Australian Cattle Dog who identifies as a Labrador because he eats everything in sight, much to Betsy’s dismay.

Jeri, since 2009
Jeri is from Coldwater, Ohio and currently resides in Vandalia. We are thankful she makes the drive to be a friendly face at our front desk. Jeri loves to assist clients, in person or on the phone, and finds satisfaction knowing that every day she has done everything possible to make pets and their families feel cared for and loved. Her Associates Degree in Paralegal has served her well in the daily communications she facilitates between clients and our doctors. She strives to care for the animals that cannot care for themselves and she enjoys learning from our doctors and technicians so that she can continue to address client concerns. A random fun fact about Jeri is that she was a competitive swimmer year-round from age 8 to 18 years old, so it’s no surprise that she LOVES the beach. With husband Tony and children Morgan and Troy, she enjoys family vacations to enjoy the ocean and fun in the sun. Locally, she likes to go hiking with her family and golden retrievers Lacey and Oliver.

Becky, 2020
As a self-proclaimed “Navy Brat”, Becky has had the opportunity to live in many places and meet a variety of people. It’s probably one of the reasons she genuinely loves people! Becky’s past work experiences in veterinary medicine make her a great match for our front desk team. She loves pets and feels that helping people care for their pets is extremely rewarding!  Of course, puppy breath and kitty cuddles are also favorites. If you hear singing at the front desk, it is very likely Becky, as she enjoys acting in our local theaters. At the end of the day, she counts herself lucky enough to have five fabulous cats and two terrific dogs at home

Veterinary Assistants

PictureRenee
Renee greatly enjoys the surgery aspect of veterinary medicine. Hired by our previous owner, Dr. Bill Imperial, she has assisted in surgery for over 20 years. Whether a routine spay  or complicated mass removal, she is observant and detail-oriented.
In her time away from work, she loves to trail ride. She owns 3 Tennesee Walking horses, Finn, Paladin and Rio.

PictureKim and Reggie
Kim joined Docton Animal Clinic in 2009. She is a graduate of   Greeneview High School. She knew from an early age that she   would enjoy a career in veterinary medicine. She grew up with a   variety of pets, including cats, dogs, birds, horses, rabbits, guinea   pigs, goats, sheep, turkeys, ducks, ferrets and a pet rat, which   gave her a broad knowledge base. She has taken coursework in   anatomy, pharmacology, surgical assistance and more.   Kim’s favorite part of veterinary medicine is helping a sick or   injured pet recover. She is passionate about advocating for pets’ medical needs and truly enjoys forming bonds with pets and their owners. If you know Kim, you know she is a very friendly, outgoing and a positive person. She plans to continue to build and modify our Assistant Training Program, as she mentors our new veterinary assistants. Outside of work, she is a talented artist. She enjoys painting, gardening and spending time with her children. She has a French Bulldog named Reggie and too many chickens to name.

Megan's bio coming soon.

Picture
Madi has a great sense of humor   and a strong work ethic. Originally from   Elridge, Maryland, she now considers   Ohio her home. Although she already   has an Associates of Science, she is   currently returning to school to earn   her degree in Veterinary Technology   through Penn Foster College. Her   favorite aspect of this field is getting to   be a part of aiding in animals’ healing and helping those who love their pets.
With just 3 cats of her own, she is far from being considered a “crazy cat lady”, but if she could take every cat she meets home with her, she would! Thankfully, “Owl”, “Burrito” and “Waffles” quench her desire for furry faces, kitty head-bumps and cute toe-beans. In addition to loving cats, she is also a talented photographer and does freelance photography. All staff photos on our website are credited to her.

Picture
Jacky, a Xenia native, a career in veterinary medicine   became clear after many years as a L.P.N. and years spent   in a human medical office. Pets have always been some   of the most important companions in her life, so her   desire to learn more about helping pets fueled her   interest in this field. Jacky strives to learn, practice and   share animal knowledge with other pet owners so their pets can live healthy lives and they can have the best relationship. She enjoys our in-clinic educational meetings, as she is always looking to learn more and grow in her knowledge and skills.
A work/life balance is important to Jacky. She is an eclectic person who has a wide range of interests in life. First and foremost, she loves spending time with her husband and their animals. She also enjoys flower and herb gardening,  studying and photographing wildlife and has recently been trying to find time to restart her world of painting and sculpting that she left behind many years ago. She enjoys the country life with all animals -both tame and wild - on their Greene County farm, which includes Australian Shepherds: “Lakota”, “Asa”, and “Aponi” plus pittie “Kane”; cats: “Crush”, “Josie”, “Brigid”, “Daisy”, “Tinman”, “River”, “Kai” and “Cara”, along with horses: “Max” and “Scout” and eight chickens!

PictureAJ
For AJ, an Enon native, every day at Docton is an interesting day. She learns something new and has the opportunity to advocate for patients who can't say what is wrong. For some reason, fate has it that she is often involved in assisting with the emergency ingestion of things pets eat. Sometimes this involves making the pet vomit and other times offering supportive treatment.
AJ has been working towards her real estate license and hopes to balance the best of both worlds - veterinary medicine and real estate. Additionally, she enjoys home renovations, diy projects and  anything that includes water sports (boating, parasailing, swimming) and the outdoors. She has fun driving her Jeep Wrangler, having owned 3 in the past 7 years, and LOVES to take the doors and top off in the summertime. She shares her home with her cats Millie and Mitzi, the sassy one.

PictureMorgan with "Rowena"
Morgan earned her Veterinary Assistant Certificate     through San Juan College and is currently enrolled in   Penn Foster’s online program to earn her degree in   Veterinary Technology. Additionally, she is working   towards a Fear Free certificate. She grew up in   southwestern Michigan
Morgan found her passion for veterinary medicine   growing up with standardbred race horses and farm   animals. She has a strong interest in animal nutrition and hopes to become a licensed veterinary technician, specializing in clinical pathology or nutrition. She is passionate about elderly patients, hospice and end-of-life care. She also loves all cats, even the grumpy ones.
Outside of work, Morgan showed horses growing up and played tennis. More recently, she enjoys mounted archery, baking, and gardening, as well as rescuing horses. She resides in Xenia with her husband and many pets, big and small, including horses, cows, a donkey, goats, dogs and cats.

PictureGracie with "Iris"
Gracie is originally from Dothan, Alabama and is currently enrolled in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program. She is gaining valuable working knowledge as she studies to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. When asked what drew her to veterinary medicine, she confidently states, “I am passionate about veterinary medicine because animals are infinitely loyal and they deserve to have the same loyalty in the people who take care of them. I have always loved animals and couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else.” She enjoys seeing animals recover from an illness or heal from an injury and she truly enjoys all the large breed dogs.
In her free time, Gracie enjoys hiking and just being outdoors. She shares her home with Lucy (Schnauzer mix), Iris (Texas Heeler) and Brie (a long-haired cat).

PictureKaeler with "Peso"
Kaeler is a detail-oriented person with a fun,   positive outlook on life. She does an outstanding job   taking care of our clients and their pets, whether they   are here for a wellness visit or a sick visit. As she   explains, “Have you ever met a   patient in veterinary   medicine that asks you to wipe their rear? Not exactly. I   like veterinary medicine because we are here to help   those who can’t really explain themselves. Of course, it does help that they are fluffy and cute!" Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is helping misunderstood canines; she loves to help and handle the big dogs especially.
In her free time, Kaeler strives to exercise indoors and outdoors. She enjoys fishing and a good round of golf. Pesa, her red Doberman Pinscher, is often by her side.

PictureMarion with her Maine Coon, "Smoggy Moon"
Marion has always enjoyed working with people. She is so happy to have found a new passion through veterinary medicine - helping people help their pets. When asked why she is passionate about veterinary medicine, she simply states, “Animals bring such joy to the people who have them and it’s great to have a small hand in taking care of them.”  She especially loves expanding her animal knowledge each day and then sharing that knowledge with owners.
Originally from Miamisburg, Marion now resides in Dayton with her partner, Mike. She has 4 cats: Stevie Mitts, Smoggy Moon, Smokey, and Sneakers. Stevie Mitts and Smoggy Moon are Maine Coons. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking and camping. One fun thing she did recently was to get her motorcycle license, so if you see a cool motorcycle in the parking lot, you know she’s at work, ready to help your pet.

We enjoy watching our team grow and develop in their education, whether their course is veterinary medicine or another field. We've even been fortunate to have several previous assistants continue to Veterinary School. Below are a few of our current collage students who still work over school breaks and summertime.

PictureAbbie
Abbie has always had a love of animals from a young age. She loves being able to help them in any way she can and she enjoys helping with the same families throughout the years as well as being able to meet new faces. It is fun to see the patients grow and get better. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is having a hand in fixing problems and helping pets feel better. She currently attends Cedarville University and hopes to attend vet school at The Ohio State University.
When she’s not studying, she enjoys reading, sewing, puzzles, and hiking and playing with her family’s puppy, Rosie.

Picture
A 2020 Greeneview graduate, Brooklyn participated in 4H for many, many years and likes all species of animals. She still helps her younger sisters with their 4H livestock projects and assists in the barns at the fair in a variety of ways.
She is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education.

PicturePayton with "Sam Hubbard"
Payton grew up on a farm in Cedarville and has been around animal medicine her whole life. She showed pigs in 4-H for over 13 years and   she has always wanted to be a large animal veterinarian. She enjoys working with livestock and working national livestock shows. She has   earned her B.S in Science with a Minor in Business and she was just started Veterinary School at The Ohio State University! Her future goals include finishing vet school in 2026, working as a large animal DVM, and eventually opening her own large animal practice.
She loves working in the small animal clinic as well and is especially in love with all of the cats. Payton feels this profession is so rewarding. It’s rewarding to see very ill patients come back months later and are back to normal and living the best life. It makes this job all worth it!
Her pets include cats “Sam Hubbard” and “Amy Hubbard”, Australian Shepherds “Annie" and "Piper” and a horse, 2 donkeys, 4 sheep, and a jersey steer.

Inventory Manager and Receptionist

PictureKatherine and Adam

Katherine is our self-confessed “phone chick” and was initially hired to answer phone calls and facilitate the influx of client questions and concerns. She came from a strong background with animals: breeding and showing Bearded Collies since she was a teen, earning her title of Master Groomer, and working 12 years at Fairborn Animal Hospital. This strong and varied background, coupled with a Bachelor’s in Communications, means she can more than adequately handle the variety of phone calls that we receive each day. She will tell you that her favorite part of veterinary medicine is talking to the pet owners. She aims to listen to their questions and concerns so she can secure the answers or products they need. Being a supporting member of our team means she is able to help care for patients who cannot speak for themselves.  Since joining our team in 2011, she has grown into other roles, including receptionist and Inventory Manager. Keeping the entire clinic stocked with the necessary medications, vaccines and supplies is no easy feat!
Though a  military brat, Katherine’s family moved to Fairborn in her teens. She has resided in Greene County ever since. She lives with her husband, Tim, and three Bearded Collies: Adam, Peggy Sue and Lulu. Besides attending dog shows, Katherine enjoys crocheting and being a self-proclaimed “total nerd”. If your pet is named after a movie or book character she will likely get the reference.

Practice Manager

Picture
Tiffany
Tiffany began her career with Docton immediately following high school graduation. She worked as a veterinary assistant throughout college and graduated from Wright State University with a Bachelor of Science in Middle Childhood Education with a focus on Mathematics in 2004. She completed her Masters of Education in 2005. She continued working at Docton while taking several long-term substitute positions at nearby schools. When a career in the education field didn't come to fruition, she was offered a full-time position as office manager.
Tiffany went on to earn her Certificate in Veterinary Practice Management from St. Petersburg College in 2013. She then achieved the title of Certified Veterinary Practice Manager in 2014 after completing the necessary requirements and sitting for a national test, as designated by the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association. She is one of approximately 1,000 CVPMs nationwide. She enjoys the variety a veterinary office offers and rarely misses an opportunity to gush over puppies and kittens, although she has a particular soft spot for our more "senior" patients.
She resides with her husband, Brandon, and two sons on a Greene County farm. She shares her home with an orange and white cat, "Tater"; a Rottweiler, "Yelta", a spunky black and white cat name Lazarus for his near death experience as a 3 week old kitten,
"Bandit", a black cat rescued as an underweight, starving kitten off the bike path,  and 2 barn cats:  Fluffy and Precious. Her free time is spent camping, swimming, fishing, and just being outdoors with her family, as well as reading and scrapbooking.
